The Rise of the Guardians (released November 21 in theaters) is based on the William Joyce series for children, Guardians of Childhood. Projected to be a 13-book series, some of the books are novels, and the rest are picture books.

The books are set 200 years before the storyline in Rise of the Guardians. The characters in the film are Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, the Sandman, and Jack Frost (the names listed in the Internet Movie Database are shorter!) These Guardians battle nemesis Pitch who threatens the beliefs of the world’s children. Stay tuned for more books in the series!
