Chester is Back!

chesters_back_jacketRemember a certain adorbale, famously talented cat named Chester? Sure you do. You probably even wrote him a fan letter or two. He’s recieved thousands of them. That’s why he’s back on the literary scene again with a brand new masterpiece of fun-filled fiction. And this time it’s all Chester. None of Melanie’s unwanted, ill-timed interruptions. Chester is blessedly Melanie-free. Or so he thinks. Not so fast Chester. Melanie has a little plan of her own that will definitely put Chester in his place. So Chester wants to be famous, does he? He wants to be a star and ride around in a long limousine filled with red jelly beans? Melanie can handle that and a little something extra besides. Be careful what you wish for Chester dear!

Scaredy Squirrel is back with another harrowing adventure. Before I tell you about it, though, he would like you to wash your hands and brush your teeth. Our hero is not fond of germs…or things that bite, you see.

In Scaredy Squirrel Makes a Friend by Mélanie Watt, Scaredy decides to make a friend. This involves a great deal of planning and preparation. It’s not okay to just jump into these things, you know. There are things that can bite you out there, and you need to have a idea of what to do when you find that possible friend. As you might expect, things don’t really end up going according to the plan. Don’t worry. Scaredy doesn’t encounter any suspicious bunnies or *gasp* Godzilla.

The artwork in this sequel is just as cute as it was last time around. Truthfully, I’d love to frame the book and put it on my wall. I love every page. I particularly enjoyed the page called “How to make the Perfect First Impression.” Who knew that lemonade was involved? I would like to thank Dan for telling me that this book was available. I have already read it at two people…and they didn’t scream and run away, so that should tell you something. If you enjoyed Scaredy Squirrel, be sure to get yourself a copy of this one too.

Place My Award Here

Chester Book JacketChester is the naughty, but terribly funny cat of the title in this new book by Melanie Watt. (Watt also wrote the Scaredy Squirrel books.) If you’ve read any of her books, then you already know about her charmingly crazy sense of humor. This latest book is no exception. It starts with Melanie trying to write a story about a mouse, but Chester isn’t having any of that. He’s dying to express his heretofore suppressed literary talent and it’s no surprise who he wants his story to be about– the most wonderful, talented, handsome cat in the world–none other than himself, of course. Armed with a red marking pen, Chester is set and ready to improve Melanie’s sorry story about the mouse who lived in the country. He even makes his mark on the illustrations. But Melanie isn’t going to give up without a fight. Finally, just when Chester thinks he has everything worked out to his advantage, Melanie’s story takes a hilarious turn. Find out why Chester the cat is so upset when you read Chester by Melanie Watt.
