I just finished the program. It was great – I learned a lot of great new to me books and the kids are really interested in the books the bookleggers sharel
Can teens participate in Bookleggers?
I agree – it’s a great program!
Janet – Thanks for your question. I talked to our booklegger coordinator and she has no problem with teens participating.
Just keep in mind:
1) training takes place on Tuesday mornings, 9:15-11:45 and goes for 8 weeks (Current session Feb. 5-April 8).
2) Visits to follow take place between M-F, 9am-3pm, so teens would have to have some time available during school hours to do the visits, and
3) Teens must have a means to get to the schools to Bookleg. If they don’t drive, they either have to have a parent drive them, take the bus, etc.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
