When I am sick, too busy, or emotionally troubled, I reach for a book I’ve read before. Harry Potter is prefect when I have a cold or flu;Agatha Christie is great when life is busy; and when life is hard,; I reach for Georgette Heyer.
Georgette Heyer lived from 1902 -1974. While she wrote some very interesting crime novels; she is well known for her Regency Romances. Following in Jane Austen’s footsteps, she wrote novels of romance/comedies of manners . However, she lived long after the regency time period, so her novels are meticulously researched. But they are mostly fun books of beautiful world , where fashion is a virtue, and virtue will always reform a rake.
