Besides resolutions to be healthier (eat differently, exercise more) and use time better (take time for ourselves, or our families, etc.), many of us may want to broaden our knowledge of the world–through our reading. I would like to read more nonfiction in 2015.
For ideas about good books, there are many places to start —
At aclibrary.org there is a tab for Reader’s Corner at the bottom right of our home page frame.
Below that, there is a list of Award winners — Man Booker, National Book Award, Pulitzer, etc.
And below that, links to Reviews from SF Gate (online version of the SF Chronicle reviews) and NY Review of Books.
There are links to three(3) web sites where you can keep and share your own books (like Goodreads :) And other web sites for book lovers.
You can find in the right column, Bestsellers – a link to NY Times Bestsellers.
There you can subscribe to a monthly e-newsletter of the top few “New bestsellers”.
Actually there are many ways to track down New Books from our Readers’ Corner.
Happy hunting for informative, amusing, or profound literature in the new year. And best of luck with your other resolutions!
