Fremont Main Library and the Fremont Photographic Society present works by local photographic artists throughout September. The exhibit highlights four subject areas: Landscape, Human Interest, Creative/Abstract and Monochrome. Learn what inspired the photographer to create the image and which techniques and processes were used to achieve his or her vision.
Also on display will be a selection of antique cameras and photography books. Exhibits are located on the second floor of the Fremont Main Library, 2400 Stevenson Blvd. Fremont, CA 94538.
On Saturday, September 15, the Fremont Photographic Society will host a free cyanotype workshop in front of the library. Cyanotype is one of the oldest and simplest photographic processes. Bring objects you want to image such as leaves, keys, paperclips or flowers to make your own photogram. Just expose to the sun, put in water and watch the image appear before your eyes! Flat, opaque objects with an interesting shape are easiest to work with, but other objects can create interesting images. For ages 6+, Workshop runs all day or until supplies run out.
