BHARATHANATYAM – INDIAN CLASSICAL DANCE
Fremont Main Library, Fukaya Meeting Room
Sunday, September 22, 2013, 2 p.m. ‚Äď 4 p.m.

You are cordially invited to a Bharathanatyam recital. This performance presents nine dancers of the world renowned Pandanallur style of Bharathanatyam. Of the featured dancers, seven are professional talents from India, currently on a performance tour in California.

This pure Indian Classical dance performance is presented by Smt. Sneha Vivek, Artistic Director of Natya Ninada Performing Arts Foundation, which was established in Fremont to preserve and promote ancient Indian classical dance forms.

Smt. Sneha Vivek is a disciple of Guru “Kalashree” Vidwan Chandrashekar Navada from India, who shall grace the recital with his presence. Bharathanatyam is a form of artistic yoga, which synchronizes the inner biorhythms with the movements of the body, aptly called ‚Äúthe dance of the body and soul.‚ÄĚ The different styles of dances evolved from the gurus and their cities in ancient South India.

This event is free. No reservations are required. This event is sponsored by the Fremont Chamber of Commerce and the Alameda County Library.

Billy Joel sings the song below.  Billy Joel music CDs are in the Alameda County Library catalog, or search for downloadable (free) music in Freegal.
