  1. A day-long event educating students, specifically girls, in the 6th to 8th grade about the fundamentals of leadership and entrepreneurship. Students who are interested in the field of business and curious about entrepreneurship will be exposed to characteristics of a great leader and to marketing, finance, business management and administration through various activities. They will then use what they learn to simulate their own business and compete with other students at the workshop.

2.   TiE  is world’s largest entrepreneurship forum and is a nonprofit organization with yearly events like TieCon. The TiE organization is organizing a series of workshops for 9th – 12th graders on entrepreneurship. Students will learn how successful entrepreneurs start companies and get a chance to interact with them directly. Classes are open to all students who are highly motivated to start their own companies; and there are no prerequisites.

Want to find out the talents of our students and staff in the Fremont Unified School District? The 4th annual talent show is the right event for you to enjoy.  The students are trying hard to win up to $2,400 in total for their schools, so the competition is hot.  Acts include singing, dancing, martial art, flute, band, electric guitar, violin, piano, etc… Come one and all, and cheer for them!

Date: Saturday, Nov 14.

Time: 11 am to 1 pm & 3 pm to 5 pm

Location: Mission San Jose High School, Room C120, 41717 Palm Avenue, Fremont, CA 94539

Emcees: Dr. Jim Morris (FUSD Superintendent), Ms. Sherea Westra (FUDTA President), Ms. Nina Moore (Former FUSD Board Trustee)

Judges: Mr. Eman Isadiar (Fremont Symphony Orchestra Executive Director), Ms. Sharon Coco (FUSD Administrative Assistant to Board and Superintendent), Mr. Larry Sweeney (4-Term FUSD Board Trustee)

Tickets cost: $5/ea online purchase; $10/ea at the door.  Participants and children 3 and under are free.  Net proceeds will go to support FUSD schools, programs, and students.

“Paws to Read” — Summer Reading Game of 2014 officially ended last Saturday, August 9.  “But, but, but ….,” some of you might say, “I haven’t got my final prizes yet!!!!”

No worry, even you won’t be able to sign up to play the game anymore, BUT, if you did sign up earlier and have your game board, you can still come to play and claim your prizes.  The last day to play will be Sunday, August 31.

untitledIf your child goes to school in the Fremont Unified School District, and if you owned one of the Apple i-products, you might want to down load this free app from the App store.

iFUSD is the official iOS Application for the Fremont Unified School District.  It has really awesome features such as Push Notifications about important updates for the schools that you choose, emergency status updates,  grades and attendance data access for Junior and high schools, access to District news and calendar, information on the community/Board of Education, schools locations/maps, and function like 1-click calling to your children’s schools.

This app was made in coordination with the FUSD Technology department, an involved parent, a high school student developer, and many other high school students from Mission San Jose High school.

Come and watch FUSD students compete for $1000 and the FUSS (Fremont Unified Student Store) trophy for their school!  You and your families are invited to attend the 1st Annual FUSD’s Got Talent Show.  This show is hosted by FUSS to raise money for homeless FUSD students and their families for the holidays.  All proceeds will be given to homeless FUSD students to help with the holidays.

Time: 12 pm – 5:00 pm

It is once again time for the Happy Fish Fun Run which benefits the Fremont Education Foundation’s Guy Emanuele Sports Fund (GESF). The GESF provides $200 scholarships to high school students in Fremont Unified School District that wish to participate in sport, but can not afford it without financial help.

  • Date: Sunday, 10/09/11
  • Location: Lake Elizabeth/Central Park, Fremont

Participants will receive Refreshments, Awards, T-shirt, & goodie bags as a token as appreciation.

While you are running and walking 5k/10k, your kids can stay at the Kids’ Corral which is a supervised, enclosed area with activities planned for them.  There is also a FREE Family Fitness Expo that includes children and family activities.
