Please join us to celebrate Nowruz with Persian traditional music by Ebrahimi brothers and dance performance by Shahrzad Dance Company.



Nowruz is the traditional Iranian festival of spring which starts at the exact moment of the vernal equinox, commencing the start of the spring. It is considered as the start of the New Year among Iranians. The name comes from Avestan meaning “new day” Nowruz is celebrated March 20/21 each year, at the time the Spring equinox.

Nowruz has been celebrated for thousands of years. Today the festival of Nowruz is celebrated in Iran, Iraq, India, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.

Millions of  people worldwide celebrate Nowruz, with traditions and rituals particularly strong in the Balkans, the Black Sea and Caspian Sea regions, the Caucasus, Central and South Asia, and the Middle East. Events may include folk dance performances, special concerts.
